Simple Serve
THE TOOLS
Peeler or channel knife, fresh citrus fruits: an orange, lemon, and grapefruit, room temperature spring water (not tap) and ice.
THE PROCESS
- Pick your favorite Milam & Greene Pour into a glass, then nose and taste
- Choose two fruit rinds that will compliment your whiskey and express the oils on the top of each hand
- Nose the whiskey and smell the oils on your left hand, then nose the whiskey and smell the oils on your right hand
- Choose your favorite combination, then zest that rind into your glass, and drop it in.
- Ask yourself: How does it taste? Not there yet? Maybe too “strong”? If so, play with water or ice or a bit of both
- Now how does it taste? Congratulations! You have found your favorite personalized “Simple Serve” of Milam & Greene

M&G Manhattan
- 2 oz. Milam & Greene Triple Cask Bourbon
- ½ oz. Luxardo
- ½ oz. sweet vermouth
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- 1 dash peach bitters
Stir with ice. Strain onto fresh ice in old fashioned glass. Garnish with a lemon twist.

Milam & Greene Old Fashioned
- 2 dash Angostura Bitters
- 1 dash Orange Bitters
- 1/4 oz Simple Syrup
- Garnish: orange peel and cherry
Combine whiskey and simple syrup over ice in a pint glass and stir for 20 seconds. In a rocks glass place a large fresh ice cube or smaller cubes. Take orange peel and rub around the edges of the serving glass and rest the peel on the edge. Add bitters into serving class before straining cocktail into the glass, garnish with cherries.

Hill Country Highball

1 oz. Averna or other rich Amaro

¾ oz. fresh lemon juice

1½ oz. ginger beer
Shake with ice and serve on ice in a Collins glass. Top with ginger beer. Garnish with fresh blackberries.

Brown Derby
- 1 oz. Fresh Grapefruit Juice
- .75 oz. Honey Syrup
Combine all ingredients into a shaker with ice, shake for at least 20 seconds, strain into a chilled glass and garnish with a lemon peel.

Milam Mule
- .25 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
- .25 oz. Simple Syrup
- 2.5 oz. Ginger Beer (or to taste)
Combine the whiskey, lime juice, and simple syrup in a shaker, shake with ice for at least 20 seconds, strain into a serving glass or mule mug, add fresh ice, fill with ginger beer, and add lime for garnish.

M&G JUNIOR
Looking for something classic this weekend? Try a Junior made with Milam & Greene Port Cask Finished Rye. This one is great for a long sip in the late afternoon.
- .75 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
- .3 oz Benedictine
- 2 dashes of Angostura Bitters
Shake all ingredients with ice for at least 20 seconds and strain into a chilled glass.

Home on the Range
- .25 oz sweet vermouth
- .25 oz orange liqueur
- 3 dashes Angostura bitters
- 1 orange or lemon peel
Combine all liquid ingredients into serving glass (start with bitters and then bourbon), add ice and stir. Garnish with a citrus peel.

M&G BLINKER
- 1 oz. Freshly Squeezed Pink Grapefruit Juice
Combine all ingredients into a shaker with ice, shake for at least 20 seconds, strain into a chilled glass and garnish with a lemon peel.
