2026 Wildlife Collection: Bluebonnet Straight Bourbon

Spirit shaped by the heart of the Hill Country

How do you know it's Spring in Texas? Your roadsides turn blue. 

Bluebonnet is the first 2026 release in Milam & Greene's Wildlife Collection, distilled in Kentucky using our proprietary mashbill, the whiskey was brought to Blanco as white dog and filled into four barrels to age entirely in Texas. For five years and seven months, those barrels sat on the north side of Rickhouse 1, through relentless Hill Country heat, prolonged drought, and historic winter freezes, a process we lovingly refer to as "Texification". 

The result is mahogany-deep, rich with wildflower honey, baking spice, and chocolate malt on the palate, with a long finish that ends on cardamom and a gentle menthol lift. Unmistakably Texas, by nature.

Proceeds from this bottle sale will benefit the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center who works to protect native landscapes including roadsides throughout the state of Texas. The Bluebonnet is the official state flower, chosen for its resilience, ubiquity, but most importantly, beauty in some of the most rugged terrain. With Bluebonnet Straight Bourbon, the Wildlife Collection blooms.

Color: Mahogany

Nose: Wildflower honey, ripe melon, charred oak, chocolate cake

Palate: Baking spice and grain, opening to honey, marzipan, and chocolate malt balls

Finish: Long and elegant; honey, cardamom, gentle menthol
