The fifth installment of our award-winning Blender’s Reserve Collection, Unabridged Volume 5 brings together select straight bourbons from Kentucky, Tennessee, and Texas in one bold, cohesive blend. Acclaimed whiskey expert Fred Minnick joined our production team and members of local bourbon clubs in a blind tasting to select the final expression: a complex, mahogany-colored bourbon bottled exactly as intended.
Seven distinct cask components are brought together through our signature “Texification” process, where the extremes of the Texas Hill Country help marry rich, creamy Kentucky bourbon, smooth Tennessee whiskey, and the vibrant spice of Texas distillate.
Bottled at 121.6 proof and non-chill filtered, Volume 5 is the highest-proof and most complex Unabridged release to date.
TASTING NOTES
COLOR Mahogany
NOSE Demerara sugar, cinnamon, dusty oak, cocoa powder, peach cobbler
PALATE A lovely oily mouthfeel with loads of sweetness right up front: fig bar, sticky toffee pudding, cinnamon rolls, stone fruit. The sweetness is balanced beautifully by light oak and a subtle note of biscuit.
FINISH Medium-long with a touch of warmth. Peach and tropical fruit alongside marzipan, nutmeg, and fresh mint.
SERVE Let it rest in the glass a moment. Excellent neat, on ice, with a teaspoon of water, or in a cocktail.
